Job Overview:

The Sr. Exchange and Collaboration Engineer’s role is to participate in the overall management of the company’s Messaging and Collaboration infrastructure.  This position is a seasoned member of the overall Digital Office team and will support our on-premises Exchange, Exchange Online, MS Teams Online and Microsoft 365 core services. To support this requirement, the role requires strong, hands-on experience implementing, and supporting the relevant messaging, collaboration, and core M365 technologies.


  • Participate in engineering reviews and initiatives for the Messaging and Collaboration environments, including:

  • On premise Exchange 2016

  • Exchange Online

  • On premise Skype/Lync

  • Teams Online

  • Migration from on premise to online platforms

  • Provide Tier 3 support for issues related to the messaging and collaborations platforms

  • Review, recommend, schedule, and assist with deployment of software patches and upgrades for on-premises systems

  • Perform BAU activities within the environment as necessary including:

  • Environment reconfiguration

  • Message archiving/retrieval/deletion

  • Mailbox maintenance and access management

  • Assist in creating automation workflows for common/standard requests and integrating with ServiceNow

  • Provide Critical Incident support and participate in on-call rotation

What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise level Microsoft Exchange environments (5000+ mailboxes)

  • 5+ years of experience creating and modifying PowerShell scripts for AD, AAD, Microsoft Exchange 2016, Exchange Online, and MS Teams

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent IT work experience (10+ years)


  • Relevant, current technical certifications encouraged

  • Strong working knowledge of patch management and change control practices

  • Thorough technical knowledge of current messaging and collaboration systems, software, protocols, and standards

  • Hands-on experience working in complex infrastructure environments in a highly regulated industry
