Job Overview:
The Enterprise Data Steward is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining data governance practices across the enterprise. This position will partner with key Business and Technology stakeholders to enable and support the firm’s data governance strategy.
Responsibilities:
Partners with the business, technology, and other relevant stakeholders to catalog and manage business metadata while establishing and maintaining a stewardship network for data domains
Collaborate with resources from the Business and Technology on various projects and initiatives to achieve governance objectives
Performs data profiling and research to understand relevant data elements along with their definitions and use
Document and maintain data standards, partnering with business data owners to map data lineage, usage, and common definitions
Design, build, and execute efficient and accurate control structures to assess data quality and compliance to data governance policy and standards
Lead and advance data governance principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data
Work with the business units to define and document Business Metadata for critical data
Review and monitor data quality results
Collaborate with data owners and users to modify or implement new repeatable and reliable businesses processes
Assist Data Governance leadership in the delivery of all data governance projects and initiatives
Participate in the creation of key data governance artifacts (documentation, definitions, processes, templates, etc.)

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline and 5 to 7+ years of experience in data governance or data management
Experience with data governance and quality tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.
Related hands-on project experience working with metadata, data quality, data cataloging, policies, and learning & development
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage changing priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with business and technical teams
Fluency in data related practices including data management, data governance, architecture, and data & analytics
Capable of strong critical thinking skills and the ability to ask relevant questions to improve processes, identify issues/gaps, and build efficiencies
Core Competencies:
Demonstrates data analysis skills and the ability to work independently
Ability to communicate thoughts/designs/ideas in an unambiguous manner and adjusts communication based on audience
Exhibits active and effective communication skills with team members - including active listening and effective written and verbal communication skills
Able to accurately estimate the tasks and resources needed to complete assigned project work
Preferences:
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and exposure to data governance toolsets (Collibra, IDQ, ASG, data.world, Manta, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and collaboration with experience in technical writing, storytelling, or requirements writing
Ability to communicate thoughts/designs/ideas in an unambiguous manner and adjusts communication based on audience
Exhibits active and effective communication skills with team members - including active listening and effective written and verbal communication skills
Related hands-on project experience working with metadata, data quality, data cataloging, policies, and learning & development
