Job Overview:
LPL's Information Security team is seeking an exceptional VP II Information Security Architect to lead efforts in security architecture. As the VP II, Information Security Architect at LPL, you will lead a team of security architects who will work side by side with our Development, Operations, Business units, and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure our environments are secured and monitored. The right person for this role will have a broad technical information security background with a focus on security design, detection, prevention and response to security threats related to both on premise systems and cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and nurture team of security architects to deliver “security architecture reviews” for LPL Technology projects both in-house and 3rd party integration. SARs will ensure compliance with published LPL security policies and security best practices.
- Lead and provide subject matter expertise on best practice security design concepts and implementations on but not limited to; application development, network security, platform security, cloud security.
- Research and evaluate new security technologies and evangelize security within LPL. The research target is to identify, design and prototype new security solutions that can be adopted and deployed into a highly available production environment.
- Lead the security architecture team to champion security by design concepts in application development, and third-party solution deployment and integrations.
- Collaborate across security engineering, infrastructure and application development teams to enhance the security posture of both company infrastructure and client-facing systems
- Collaborate with security engineering team to analyze potential impact of new threats and exploits, and provide subject matter expertise in the development and deployment of solutions to mitigate those threats.
- Provide leadership by example. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement to develop and share best practices across the team that will better enable business security.
- Schedule, coordinate and/or facilitate meetings to capture key action items, discussion points, and deliver executive level status updates to all stakeholders
- Develop, track and report relevant metrics (KPIs, KRIs, OKRs), scheduled activities, and milestones to executives monthly that reflect execution statuses, risks and opportunities.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in computer science or a related technology discipline
- 12+ years of experience in information security or related technology experience required
- 8+ years of managing technical staff, providing feedback, coaching, and performance management.
- CISSP (CISSP:ISSAP is a plus), GIAC, CCSP/Other Cloud Certification
- Must be self-driven, flexible and adaptable with outstanding communications skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure managing multiple tasks across a team of security architects
- Experience securing and architecting cloud based infrastructures (e.g. Azure, AWS and GCP)
- Knowledge of NIST, SOX and related financial controls
Preferences:
- Master of Science (MS) degree in computer science or a related technology discipline
- Significant experience in software-based networking technologies and SDN management interaction between applications and orchestration systems (API).
- Significant experience in security automation and orchestration in both premise and cloud implementations.
- Experience working with multiple operating systems, with expert level knowledge of Linux, Windows, and OS X and the application of OS security concepts.
- Solid experience securing scalable web architectures and distributed systems
- Expert experience in evaluating and assessing security threats across a variety of environments
- Solid understanding of malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management
- Technical knowledge/coding skills in Java, Ruby and or Python
- Solid experience in developing architecture standards and the necessary architectural patterns that flow out of those standards using TOGAF, SABSA or similar EA standards.
Pay Range:
$190,520-$285,780/yearThe salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.Why LPL?
