Job Overview:
The VP of Business Development for LPL’s Liquidity & Succession business line will be part of an innovative, entrepreneurial, high-performing team that is leading the evolution of LPL’s go-to-market strategy with new business lines and advisor affiliation models. The VP of Business Development will support the team’s growth by nurturing a pipeline of potential acquisition targets. The VP of Business Development will be responsible for generating new acquisition opportunities, building trust with acquisition targets, reporting on pipeline activity and momentum, helping to develop LPL’s value proposition as compared to marketplace competitors, and participating in the development of LPL’s strategy by sharing key learnings and observation learned through participation in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of acquisition opportunities
Ensure an exemplary advisor experience with new affiliation models by coordinating with internal partners through discussion, demonstration, and leading by example to meet and exceed advisor expectations; acute focus on Liquidity & Succession experiential and capabilities design.
Support strategic initiatives and execution of LPL’s Liquidity & Succession model expansion and program management deliverables.
Actively monitor and analyze emerging trends, developments and players across the industry landscape, including wirehouses, recognized semi-captive destinations for elite advisors and supported independence platform providers to inform the company’s view of opportunities and approach to innovation.
Leverage market data to identify opportunities, influence capabilities development, and guide marketing campaigns.
Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal business partners to strategize and develop innovative solutions for an industry-leading advisor experience.
What are we looking for?
We want a high energy, outside of the box thinker with a strong understanding of the independent wealth management industry, including the emerging trend of private equity interest in the wealth management market and the evolving landscape for financial advisors. We are looking for people with strong organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills who see the power in creating processes that will allow business lines to scale.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience working within the independent wealth management industry.
8+ years of experience with existing investors in the wealth management space (including aggregator models, private equity firms, and banks)
Experience with Salesforce.com and MS Office suite.
Preferences:
An entrepreneurial drive and a do-what-it-takes attitude, grounded in tangible results.
Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify relevant data and ability to evaluate business opportunities within the context of a larger organization.
Exemplary communications skills, with the confidence to effectively present complex topics to acquisition targets, as well as senior internal leadership, in a clear and actionable manner.
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Experience working on a project team and meeting project timelines while managing competing priorities.
The preferred candidate will be local to LPL’s corporate offices in Fort Mill, SC or San Diego, CA
