Job Overview:

The Advisor Technology Engagement team is focused on working with our Advisors and Institutions to provide guidance, support and solutions for technology capabilities that are leveraged by both advisors, program managers, members, their staff and their investors. This position will focus on providing data consulting and support directly to subset of LPL’s Bank and Credit Union partners (Institution Services affiliation model). These clients have complex data needs to operate and grow their businesses with a key dependency on LPL as a data partner and provider. Candidates must have a strong technical background in data, but also have experience and willingness to understand the strategic priorities of our clients and work tactically within their and LPL’s ecosystem to solution. Additionally this role requires strong communication and project management skills and be able to work across key client contacts, business leaders and technology.


  • Consult directly with institutional clients on LPL data content, availability, standards and best practices during discovery, onboarding, implementation and support stages

    • Be the data subject expert across various data domains

    • Knowledge of data architecture, models, systems, storage and transport technology

    • Ability to provide technical solutions or provide available alternatives to help achieve the desired business outcomes

    • Coordination between key internal stakeholders and external clients for current and future data needs

    • Deeply understand the practices you work with in order to provide proactive recommendations, best practices, engagement plans and roadmap awareness. Provide guidance on LPL policies and support management reporting

  • Develop client facing technical requirements, supporting documentation and best practices for clients to better utilize data and facilitate better discovery and adoption

  • Coordinate with business leadership, strategy, and technology teams to represent institution data needs in technology development, project initiatives

  • Assist internal product, business, technology teams as a data subject matter expert in support and coordination of broader initiatives

  • Strong Experience in data modelling, architecture, design, analytics and implementation

  • Experience in defining and applying data management best practice

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate issues, and provide solutions, or in many cases, responses without defined solutions

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present materials to C-Suite of Institutions, as well as the highest levels of LPL. Possess the ability to frame complex issues

  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Financial institution, financial services or financial technology experience preferred
