Product/Strategy Owner, Innovation Labs

If so, the Product/Strategy Owner at our Innovation Labs could be for you!

The Product/Strategy Owner for Financial Planning Services will be part of our entrepreneurial and fast-paced Innovation Labs that is creating the new generation of LPL services to help advisors to better serve their clients. The individual will be responsible for shaping the vision of a new service for Financial Planning aaS (including evolution of features, functionality, pricing, operations, new business models), coordinating with our tech teams to define and build the enabling technology, and prepare operations to launch and scale the service, ultimately being the product leader within the company.



What will you do as the Product Owner for Virtual Paraplanning?

  • Define product and service vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Gather, manage and prioritize market/customer needs and turn them into features
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Owning the operational budget and managing burn rate, making sure that the business case goals are met
  • Coordinate with the Head of Operations to coordinate technology developments with team/client needs and activities

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a high energy, versatile thinker-doer with a strong understanding of new product development process and financial services. The Product/Strategy Owner will have a unique opportunity to shape, build and own new services within the Innovation Labs, starting with Financial Planning as a Service. We are looking for people with strong organizational, critical thinking and analytical skills who see the power in creating services that will help extend financial guidance to more people.

What skills, experiences and/or education is required?

  • 3-5 years of experience in product management and/or product strategy with proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle (ideation, incubation, operations). Experience building and developing products/strategy for two-sided markets is a plus.
  • Some technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies, with experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization, being able to talk business and technology, depending on the context, to manage, execute and implement the strategies that you designed.
  • Superior analytical skills with an ability to identify relevant data, evaluate business opportunities within the context of a larger organization and present findings in a clear and actionable manner
  • Familiarity with financial services, financial planning process and software (eMoney, MoneyGuide, RightCapital) is a big plus.
  • A passion for fintech, financial services and/or extending financial guidance to as many people as possible
